Juniors – Useful Information
Season 2022
- Junior hardball coaching sessions begin at 6.30pm each Friday evening and end at approximately 8.00 pm. Our All Stars and Dynamos juniors will now train between 5.30pm and 6.30pm commencing Friday 6th May. The splitting of sessions is to ensure younger juniors aren’t at risk of being hit by a cricket ball. We therefore ask that if you arrive at the ground early then older juniors do not practice with a hardball until their designated start time. Weather permitting, hardball coaching will commence on 15th April 2022 and end on 22nd July 2022.
- All registrations and payments will be online from this season. We will no longer accept cash or cheques as payment.
- Your child should wear smart clothing when taking part in coaching sessions. We have dispensed with club training t-shirts this year, and recommend that a smart t shirt/hoodie and shorts/joggers are worn when attending sessions.
- Entry in and out of the ground will be via the bottom gate only. This is to ensure that children are not walking across the outfield where coaching is taking place.
- Our kitchen will be open throughout the evening during Friday coaching sessions with a variety of hot and cold food on offer. We also have our club bar offering a wide variety of drinks at competitive prices. As licensed premises, it is strictly forbidden to bring your own alcohol on site.
- We have a large pool of coaches (including 5 Level 2 qualified coaches) and coaching assistants to ensure that coaching groups are kept low.
- Many junior events are staged throughout the year which enable children to stay in touch with each other outside of the cricket season. These are run by our junior committee and if you are interested in joining then please let us know and we can provide further details.
- Our senior cricketers run events throughout the year including the very popular cider festival in August and Fireworks night in November.
- A variety of adult and junior Knowle Cricket Club branded clothing is available and we have teamed up with Doug Hillard Sports to source our junior clothing. All our clothing can be ordered from our club shop at doughillardsports.co.uk/knowle-cricket-club.
- We are very grateful to Matthews Estate Agents who have agreed to sponsor our junior playing shirts for the 2022-2024 seasons.
- Our Facebook page details upcoming events, reports on junior cricket matches and provides information of the food on offer when our kitchen is open. We will also aim to run barbeques when the weather allows. If you haven’t done so already, please add us as a friend. We can be found by searching ‘Knowle Junior Cricket’.
- Every effort is made to stage coaching sessions but sometimes the weather means that they have to be cancelled. We will try and let you know as early as possible if this happens. Details of cancelled training can be found on our Junior Facebook page.
