Shared message from B&D Youth League:

We hope that you and your respective families are staying safe and well in these challenging times.

Now that we are past Easter, BYCL League and KO Cup & National Cup Fixture schedule dates are coming closer, evenings getting lighter, and Managers and Players getting more restless, we feel the need to make contact. We appreciate that the situation is both unique and very frustrating.

The position sadly remains the same as communicated to Clubs and Leagues by the ECB in later March, that all ‘Recreational Cricket related activities remain suspended indefinitely’. We have already had some enquiries asking ‘what are we doing?’.  The simple answer is ‘nothing at this stage’, because that is the advice we have had. We do have several ideas for adjusting the ‘Youth season’ up our sleeves’, but that is where they will stay at the moment, because anything released now would be no more than ‘speculation’. We do not believe that would be helpful to anyone at this point in time. We will wait on the ECB to provide the lead, and look for them to update us when they feel the time is right to do that.

One matter already decided, is that the very popular ‘U10 Glos Leagues Festival’ in July, in which we generally enter two sides, is cancelled this year because the host School has withdrawn as their facilities will not be up to standard.

We will be in touch as soon as we hear more from the ECB, and know if and where we as a League can constructively move forward.

Meantime, please stay safe and take care.

Best wishes

Sally
